Get Ready for the DCLC Democratic Primary Endorsement Vote!
Dear DCLC Friends,
We hope that you are all staying healthy and safe during this incredibly difficult time. The coronavirus pandemic has scrambled all of our lives, and is hitting vulnerable members of our community particularly hard. Many of us have essential jobs that cannot be done from home. Those of us on the front lines--the food and grocery workers, the healthcare workers, the public safety folks, and others--are heroes and we are so grateful for what you do! Many others of us have become suddenly unemployed and unable to support our families because of working in retail, restaurants, and other service jobs that have been shut down. And all of us fear for the safety of our families.
The COVID-19 pandemic affirms why it's so important to have elected public officials that will look out for the needs of Latinos. Who among them will provide healthcare and unemployment benefits for everyone in our community regardless of immigration or employment status, both during and after this crisis?
Make your voice heard!
The DC Latino Caucus member endorsement vote begins online-only on April 18 and will conclude on April 20. On April 18, anyone who was a member as of March 18, 2020 will receive an email invitation to fill out a ballot to endorse candidates in the June Democratic Primary (including City Council Ward and At-large races, US Congressional Delegation, and US President). This is your chance to have your voice heard on the best candidates to represent our community.
Read what candidates said about Latino issues
The DCLC invited Democratic Primary candidates to submit answers to a questionnaire on Latino issues. We received over 20 responses. Before the vote, read up on what candidates had to say!

The questionnaires were completed before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, question 6 asks how the candidate would provide healthcare to our children and families, something many of us are particularly concerned with right now.
