The DC Latino Caucus is saddened by the passing of our dear friend and brother Ed Potillo.Ed was the model of a community leader. He was actively engaged in politics as President of the Ward 7 Democrats and as the Vice-Chair of the DC Democratic State Committee. He also participated enthusiastically and with dedication in many campaigns of fellow Democrats in Washington DC. His mission also included education, working for the National Alliance for Black School Educators.Ed was a member of the DC Latino Caucus Executive Board. He was very proud of his Cuban heritage, and his Cuban family in the US and in Cuba. As such, Ed was extremely interested in those issues that are of particular interest to the Latino community. The members of the DC Latino Caucus will always remember his hard work, commitment to Washington, DC, his kind leadership style, charisma, chivalry, and gentle friendship. We feel a great loss and want to extend our sincerest condolences to his family and close friends.
